Charlotte Anderson is the vice president of benefits  and workers’ compensation for ABHOW, a provider  of senior housing and healthcare.  She joined the  company in 2005, bringing over 25 years of  experience in employee benefits, workers’ compensation, work-life initiatives, and wellness in various industries, including  research, technology, consulting and medical  devices with such companies as Lawrence  Livermore National Laboratory, Maxtor, Silicon Graphics (SGI), Scient and Ocular Sciences. 

Her strategic approach is focused on designing and implementing cost-effective programs that have a positive impact on health care costs, reduce absenteeism, and increase productivity, while improving the work and personal lives of employees.  

Charlotte received her M.B.A. from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California  and her B.S. from California State University in Hayward, California.

JORDAN MAUER, Executive Vice President of Marketing & Operations at Novu. Jordan develops and leads the company’s marketing and brand initiatives, as well as the end-to-end management of member-facing operations. Jordan brings a passion for analytics, loyalty operations and engagement, as well as strategic energy to Novu.

Chris Kalkhof  is a senior healthcare executive with nearly 30 years of operations, finance, managed care / contracting, M&A, strategic alliances, and new business development experience across hospital, physician organization, post-acute care and health plan industry verticals.

At present, Chris is working on two enterprise wide revenue model and payer strategy engagements (and recently finished the same for a major AMC) and two provider-payer product specific VBPs. The revenue model projects are designed to assess current state 3rd party payer payment changes (i.e., managed care, Medicare and state Medicaid); develop transition process strategies to move from FFS to alternate payment revenue models; assess current state vs. future state operational/care model capabilities needed; align the revenue model with future operating models, physician enterprise and CIN / population health initiatives as well as integrate with overall growth and market re-positioning strategies.

KRISTIN GASTEAZORO, Vice President of Payer Sales at Novu. 

Kristin oversees the company’s payer sales team. Kristin brings over

a decade of sales leadership, operations and strategy experience to the role.

Daniel Schuyler is a Senior Director at Leavitt Partners and helps guide the firm’s public and private health insurance exchange and payer services practice. He brings to the firm applied experience in the development and implementation of health insurance exchanges, having played a central role with the planning and development of Utah’s health insurance exchange (Avenue H).

Prior to his work with Leavitt Partners, Mr. Schuyler was the Director of Technology for Utah’s small group health insurance exchange (Avenue H) where he was responsible for defining the technical goals and business processes associated with the exchange. Utah’s exchange was only the second of its kind in the United States when created in 2009. The exchange allows residents and business owners to shop, compare, and buy health insurance plans online.

His leadership and expertise in area of public and private insurance exchanges often draws national attention as he is frequently cited in a number of publications including Politico, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Kaiser Health News, The New York Times, Bloomberg and Modern Healthcare. Dan has participated as a presenter, panelist, or moderator at a number of national conferences including those sponsored by the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), the National Governors Association (NGA), the National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL), and America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP).

Alan Ayers has over 10 years experience in strategic planning, business development, clinical operations, sales/marketing and customer service for urgent care, occupational medicine, and primary care facilities of all sizes.  

Ayers has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA) and as its Practice Management Content Advisor, he has served the member base by providing expertise and guidance on emerging issues; identifying market and regulatory trends; defining content, planning educational programs, and speaking at industry events.  

A prolific and award-winning writer, Ayers is practice management editor for The Journal of Urgent Care Medicine (JUCM) and has contributed over 250 industry articles and presentations.

In 2014, Ayers was recognized by the McGuireWoods law firm as one of the nation's 15 Urgent Care Thought Leaders as well as by the Ambulatory M&A Advisor as one of Urgent Care's Top 15 Influencers. 

Prior to serving as Chief Operating Officer of a hospital-affiliated urgent care network, Ayers was a consultant to the retail industry with clients like Walmart, McDonalds, Bank of America, and Verizon Wireless.  He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina, has an MBA from the University of Mississippi, and a Masters of Accounting from The Ohio State University where he graduated first in his class.  

Shawn Matheson is a Manager at Leavitt Partners, a healthcare consulting firm founded by former HHS Secretary, Governor Michael Leavitt.  Shawn has applied experience since 1998 in Post-Acute Care (PAC) and Primary Care Medical Group Management. 

Shawn cofounded Utah’s largest mobile medical group (MDs, NPs), which was instrumental in developing alliances with hospitals, managed payers, and assisted living facilities. Shawn is former Associate Director at the University of Utah, School of Medicine, Department of Family & Preventive Medicine. 

Shawn is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) and Fellow of the American College of Health Care Administrators (FACHCA). Shawn brings passion, innovation, and solutions in helping clients develop positioning strategies for cross-continuum alignment in value-based payments.

Mr. Beck leads the QLess Healthcare Division, which is responsible for all aspects of sales and leads a team that demonstrates the business value and fit of QLess software solutions. With more than 25 years in healthcare from a Firefighter/Paramedic and Nurse to being the Vice President of Sales for healthcare companies in software and medical device. Mr. Beck’s leadership experience in enterprise and SaaS software allows him to bring a wealth of sales and leadership and guidance to the QLess company and market. He also possesses a talent for new technologies and passion for helping all types of healthcare companies provide care to those they serve.

 Prior to joining QLess, Mr. Beck held the positions of Vice President of Sales and Chief Growth Officer at several start-up companies and successfully grew them from birth to acquisition. Mr. Beck graduated from Western Governors University with a B.S degree in Marketing and Management. Mr. Beck also holds degrees Emergency Medical Services and Nursing. He also teaches clinical classes to future nurses and paramedics. Mr. Beck resides in Wake Forest, NC with his wife and his son. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, his sons hockey and the North Carolina BBQ scene in his spare time.

David Stern, MD, CPC, Practice Velocity, CEO, has worked for over 25 years in urgent care.  He was a partner in Physicians Immediate Care, which operated 20 urgent care centers in the Midwest and sold to Anthem/Wellpoint in 2012. 

Dr. Stern is currently CEO of Practice Velocity with over 1,200 urgent care installations of their EMR and practice management software.  He is also CEO of Urgent Care Consultants which has served over 160 successful urgent care startups.  He currently has ownership interest in 32 urgent care centers operating in Montana, Colorado, Mississippi, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Dr. Stern is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  As a certified professional coder, he writes the monthly coding column for the Journal of Urgent Care Medicine (JUCM.)  He has been named three times to  Castle-Connolly’s Best Physicians in America.  Dr. Stern is a founding member and has been awarded the Lifetime Membership Award from the Urgent Care Association of America.
